Contemporary art gallery in Mexico City

We are thrilled to announce the participation of Magdalena Petroni, an artist represented by General Expenses, in the group show OTR^S MUND^S, curated by Aram Moshayedi with the curatorial assistance of  Lena Solá Nogué. The show opens on Thursday, November 28, at 6 PM at Museo Tamayo and will be on view until February 23, 2025. We warmly invite you to join us for the opening and to visit the exhibition at your convenience.

In its second iteration, OTR^S MUND^S explores the Museo Tamayo as a resonant space, transforming it into a "musical instrument" where artistic interventions investigate the institutional and experiential dynamics of its galleries. This experimental format brings together artists and collaborators from diverse disciplines across Mexico, envisioning the museum as a cacophonous platform that reflects the current state of artistic thought in the country.

Magdalena Petroni will present an installation imagining a fictional office tied to the Museo Tamayo’s permanent collection. Petroni's work, delves into the historical legacy and collecting priorities that shaped the museum’s holdings, particularly regarding optical art and geometric abstraction. In this project, Petroni embraces chaos and disorientation to create a dystopian scenario that evokes corporate ruins or abandoned office spaces.

Don’t miss the chance to explore this captivating project. We look forward to seeing you at Museo Tamayo on November 28 and throughout the exhibition’s runs until February 23 of 2025.
