Michele Lorusso’s Time Capsule series from “Ejercicios Para Futurizar” / “Exercises for Future Thinking” is an artistic installation conceived as a happening that revolves around the question: what would you like to write to your future self?The artist seeks to create a space for reflection and catharsis that gives body and voice to emotions and affections. Inviting the public to carry out a speculative exercise about their future and to consider their personal and collective aspirations. The installation is activated when attendees imagine their future through writing a letter: here writing is understood from an expanded practice, an exercise that seeks to situate oneself in the future. The written letters will be stored in a Time Capsule which would also be buried in situ at the end of the activation (June 16th, 2024). They will be delivered to their recipients via post mail after unearthing the Time Capsule, in a period of 6 years (June 16th, 2030).
